About

Hi, I’m haam. Stoqlabs is where I write about the news that actually touches the tools and money we use every day.

When something big breaks, most coverage tells you what happened. I wanted a place that also answers the next question: so what do I do about it? That’s the whole idea here.

What you’ll find here

  • Trending issues, explained plainly. What happened, why people are searching for it, and what it means for you.
  • Practical next steps. Commands to run, settings to check, questions to ask your provider.
  • My honest take. Where I think the headlines get it right, and where they miss the point.

How I write

I go to the original source whenever I can: official advisories, vendor announcements, the researchers’ own write-ups. When I can test something myself, I do. This blog runs on its own small server, so when a security issue hits web servers, I check mine first and tell you what I found, including the parts I got wrong at first.

News moves fast and details change. If a post gets something wrong or goes out of date, I update it.

Also at Stoqlabs

The main site, stoqlabs.com, is home to Folio Lab, a small tool for experimenting with asset allocation.

Thanks for stopping by. Grab a post that’s useful to you, and come back when the next big thing breaks.
